由新中友好协会奥克兰分会、新西兰中国书画院主办的‘庆祝新中建交52周年—首届新西兰国际艺术名家精品邀请展’暨写生活动将于11月中旬在奥克兰举办。
本次活动特别邀请中国书画家吴泉棠先生，他的到来将给本次活动带来鸟语花香和古朴清幽的诗情画意。

吴泉棠，1956年出生，浙江衢州人，现居北京。重彩乡情创始人、红墙艺术家代表、当代新安画派掌门、中国美术家协会会员、中国画廊联盟专职画家、文化部高级画家、人民画院副院长、香港国际画院山水画艺委会副主席、中央美术学院特聘教授、北京民族大学教授/硕士生导师、中国美术家协会创作室画家、海外艺术文化推广大使、中国海外艺术文化杰出贡献者、画坛最具影响力的浙派花鸟画扛鼎之人。

有人评价说：吴泉棠的作品没有像古代文人那样去画几乎没有人烟的观念性山水，也没有像当代人那样钻进名山大川去画长林崇冈、旷野高山，或照搬西方潮流，摈弃传统精神，而是修改以往自己画家乡的画法，拉近自然与人生活的距离，把日渐消失的江南老房子和农家民居生活描绘得古老纯朴，亲切鲜活，让欣赏者获得某种健康人生的感悟。
在他的作品中可见以俯视的形式，强调平面分割，淡化空间纵深，表现近、中景，既施以大面积的重彩渲染，又加之以精致的勾勒、点虱、皴擦，使画面形成疏与密、曲与直、线与面、浓与淡、色与墨的多层次对比，使画面具有笔墨的丰富性、表现自然的鲜活性和色彩的润泽明丽性等特点，极力营造一种清新、宁静、安详的氛围，呈现出古朴、清幽的诗情画意，让欣赏者在获得美的享受的同时，有助于消解内心的浮躁心理，从中找到各自的精神皈依。通过多年的努力，吴泉棠成为了新安画派的开拓者、引领者！
SomepeoplecommentedthatWuQuantang'sworksdidnotfollowtheconceptuallandscapeswithlittlehumanpresencepaintedbyancientscholars,nordidhefollowcontemporarytrendsofpaintingfamousmountainsandvastwildernesses,orabandontraditionalspiritinfavorofWesterntrends.Instead,hemodifiedhispreviousapproachtopaintinghishometown,bringingnatureclosertohumanlife.HedepictedthefadingoldhousesandrurallifeofJiangnaninanancient,simple,intimate,andvividmanner,allowingviewerstogaininsightsintoahealthylife.
