【作者简介】
诗人、翻译家非马先生：原名马为义，英文名William Marr，生于中国台湾台中市，在原籍广东潮阳度过童年。威斯康辛大学核工博士，在美国从事能源研究工作多年。曾任美国伊利诺州诗人协会会长。著有中英文诗集三十一种，散文集三种及译著多种。作品被收入百多种选集及学校教材（中国台湾，中国大陆，英国及德国）并被译成十多种文字。非马还主编了几本中国台湾及中国现代诗选，对两岸三地诗坛的沟通做出了重要的贡献。在美国，他的双语诗创作也赢得了众多的读者与高度的赞誉。一位美国评论家曾把他列为包括桑德堡，爱德加，马斯特等名家在内的芝加哥十位值得收藏的诗人之一。非马近年并从事绘画与雕塑，在美国及中国举办了多次个展与合展。
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
William Marr was born in Taiwan and grew up in a small village in Guangdong, China. He received his PhD degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Wisconsin in 1969. Subsequently he joined Argonne National Laboratory as a researcher, working in the area of energy and environmental systems research. As a poet, he has published 31 books of poems and several books of translations in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. His first book of poems in English, Autumn Window, was published in 1995. The book was very well received. Chicago Tribune and several local newspapers carried favorable reviews and he was hailed by a Chicago critic as one of the collectible Chicago poets including Carl Sandburg, Edgar, Lee Masters, Harriet Monroe and Gwendolyn Brooks. His second book of poems in English, Between Heaven and Earth, was published in 2010. His poems are included in over one hundred anthologies, ranging from literary textbooks ( in Taiwan, China Mainland, England, and Germany) to special collections and have been translated into more than ten languages. He has also edited several anthologies of Chinese and Taiwanese modern poetry and has received several awards from Taiwan for his poetry translation and writing. He is a former president of the Illinois State Poetry Society and a member of the Chicago Poets’ Club. In recent years, Dr. Marr has also engaged in artistic activities such as painting and sculpting, and has held several solo as well as group art exhibitions in the U.S. and China.
