Orange pumpkins spread out
for as far as the eyes can see
Horizon lit up with an orange flame
Away from the wildfires
Of a California drying up
Like there were no programmes
To water the forests
Before it burst into a fire
Where all was golden
Till very recent times
With the IT boom
And the Hollywood craze
The world was dancing to its tunes!
And here too! In the apple state
The American ad
Sold like anything
And green, lush green
Was giving way
To deep, earthy, muddy hue
All set for the snow to come
And whiten our thoughts!
The harvest had been super!
Ripe pumpkins, carved
Lit up, decorating front porches
Facades of grocery stores
Fields with stacks of hay
Yet to be carried into the barns!
Brand new scare crows
With pumpkin heads, pumpkin tummies
Put up along the corn and maize stacks!
Some are still trying the haunted walks!
Romance alive, we say ‘Happy Halloween’
To the dead and alive
Merrily roaming the lanes of life
In body and spirit!
Trick or treat
Children out and so are we!
Witches costumes
Dragon’s horns
Cleopatra’s wig
Looking for the best deal!
Nicest sale! Drive around!
Await transformation
Costume party in full swing!
Some dressed as skeletons!
Some like coffins!
Delight to the pagan eye!
Does it exist ? The holy Ghost?
All presiding? Hovering over?
Debate closed!
Energy trapping? Are You?
Can witch craft be learned?
