Nine poems in the Jiangnan Neo-Sensualist School of Poetry (Chinese-English Bilingual Edition) entitled "A Tumultuous Autumn"
I. A Tumultuous Autumn
Ji Junqun/Brazil
1. The postman left behind a letter, the wind covered the ground with postmarks—
Each word is an unopened frost blade of humanity
2. The prayer of the rice waves suddenly froze on the lips—
The cicada's broken string tightened the throat of twilight
3. The clouds, hanging low like ink that had been about to fall for a thousand years,
The wild geese flew south—
Carrying away, the earth's last sigh
4. The mountain colors sank deeper and deeper in the frost, the murmuring of the stones pushing—
Leaf after leaf, reading the thin, slender lake surface
II. A Tumultuous Autumn
Ji Junqun/Zhejiang
1. Reeds like snow, the ferry crossing is colder than in previous years
The vows are burning hot
The roar of the waves, how can they pierce this resounding sound?
2. A thousand sails moored in the airport,
The one they sought could not be found. Zhang's face
The wind, tearing apart the promise to October
3. The promise, perhaps already lost on the path back to harvesting together
We wait for the shore
In this life, it has to be you
4. The last ferry robs the last warmth
The west wind howls into frost blades
In my heart, the upside-down moon congeals cracks
III. A Tumultuous Autumn
Ji Junqun/Brazil
Fallen leaves flutter, like letters, each word piercing the heart
A sheet full
Unable to express the countless frost blades of humanity
IV. A Tumultuous Autumn
Ji Junqun/Brazil
The rice waves, suddenly frozen in the undercurrent
The cicadas' song abruptly ceases—
The unfinished chirping, severing the pulse of the season
V. A Tumultuous Autumn
Ji Junqun/Brazil
The clouds hang low, as if wanting to pour out a thousand years of loneliness
The wild geese fly south
Carrying away the last sorrows. Human Life's Vicissitudes
VI. A Tumultuous Autumn
Ji Junqun/Brazil
Thoughts linger on the Frost's Descent, the night lingers, eyes wide open
The lamplight flickers
A rustling sound, always knocking on the unclosed window in the darkness
VII. A Tumultuous Autumn
Ji Junqun/Brazil
The mountain colors deepen day by day
The murmuring sound is lower than the stones
One leaf chases another into the water, thinning the lake's light
VIII. A Tumultuous Autumn
Ji Junqun/Brazil
A shawl wrapped tightly around the cold. An old boat ticket in the palm
—curled up like frost
The steam whistle sinks into October. The ferry crossing is deserted
IX. A Tumultuous Autumn
Ji Junqun/Brazil
The osmanthus blossoms once more—
The west wind whips up an empty spindle
The thread cannot be untangled, the lingering sound of a mother's call
